The Denon AVC-X4800H 9.4ch 8K AV Receiver is where Denon's home theatre range steps up to reference grade. Unlike the models below it, the X4800H is designed and manufactured in Japan and voiced by the Denon Sound Master, with more power, more inputs and higher-end processing. It drives a full 9.4-channel Atmos system with the refinement of a genuine hi-fi component.

- 8K-ready HDMI. Seven inputs and three outputs, all handling 8K/60 and 4K/120 with VRR and ALLM for gaming, plus eARC.
- Calibration and streaming. Audyssey MultEQ XT32 out of the box, upgradable to Dirac Live, with HEOS, AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and an MM phono input.

The X4800H is the point in the Denon range where you move from a very good receiver to a genuinely high-end one. The Japanese build, the extra power and the higher-grade processing make it a clear step up from the models below, and the seven HDMI inputs and three zones give it the flexibility of a serious system hub. For a dedicated theatre or a large lounge where you want the best of Denon short of the flagship, this is it.
Pro Tip: The X4800H has an 11.4-channel processor but nine channels of amplification on board. If you want to run a full 11-channel Atmos layout such as 7.4.4, use the pre-outs to add a two-channel power amp for the extra height speakers and let the receiver handle the rest.
