Condition Notes

This Exposure 3510 pre-amplifier came to us as a customer trade-in and is in excellent condition. The brushed black fascia is clean with no notable marks, the selector and volume controls turn smoothly, and the gold-plated rear sockets are unmarked. It has lived in a home system rather than a shop, and it shows.

It is complete, with the remote control, power cord and documentation present in the original carton. One only, at a substantial saving over the $3,499 RRP.

Exposure has been building amplifiers in Sussex since 1974, and the 3510 is the company doing what it has always done rather than chasing a trend. It is a line-level preamplifier with no screen, no app and no streaming, and that is the point. What the budget buys instead is a large custom-wound toroidal transformer and substantial smoothing capacitance, so the power supply never becomes the limiting factor, and a discrete transistor Class A output buffer driving the pre-outs.

Source selection runs through sealed relays rather than a long signal path to a front-panel switch, which keeps the signal short and the channel separation honest. Six line inputs, a tape loop and two sets of pre-outs cover a real system, and the second pre-out pair makes bi-amping or adding a subwoofer straightforward. Volume, input and mute are all on the supplied remote.

The published numbers are quietly excellent: 0.005% THD at 1 kHz, a 100 dB signal to noise ratio, and 7.7 V RMS of output on tap, which is more than any power amplifier will ask for. Pair it with the matching 3510 stereo power amplifier or mono blocks and you have the full Exposure front end.
